the girl with a green scarf

27 February 2009

just watch confession of a shoppaholic an hour ago, after seeing the movie, i realized that im far from being a shoppaholic, i really thought that im a borderline shoppaholic, thank God Im not, i never been to any fight just for the pair of boots on sale, lol.

it's a lighthearted film, it leaves me with a good feeling after and being mesmerized by hugh dancy smile is a plus, isla fisher is good too, she has a "gift of physical comedy". I never read any of the book so dont have comparison, anyone wants to share?

anyhow, i think im gonna use these words "do i need this" often.

Happy weekend guys!

ketchup please..

19 February 2009

I and friends had lunch at mcdo yesterday, i opened 2 ketchup for my fries, i dipped one, eat and then i burst out:

me: ang tamis, bat ang tamis? parang iba.
eight: ano ba number yan ketchup mo?
me: anong number? ano relevance ng number?
eight : (looking at the ketchup i just open) ahh 2
me: ano nga relevance?
eight: kc pag mas mataas ang number mas maasim
me: ows, yon ba yon, bat nde namin alam?
eight: oo totoo yon!
c: baka control number
me: sige lets ask the crew
me: ms. ano ibig sabihin ng number sa baba?
crew: ahh yung box number po.
us: boooo eight!
eight: nde ah sige ask natin yong manager
viola! the manager was around our area, attending other customers.

c: ms. ano ibig sabihin ng number sa ketchup?
manager: ahh, indication ng sourness, habang tumataas po ang number "paasim ng paasim"
see the number at the bottom

Ok. ayt, conviced!, we asked eight, how did she know it, she said a friend told her. We tried 1, 2, 6 and found out the difference.

we were amazed by the information we learned and wonder how come we didnt know it. i been eating at mcdo for ages and i never heard of that, the ketchup are numbered from 1-9, as the number rises, the sourness increases.

I dont know if we were the last people to know it but amazed with the info. So next time i will dine at mcdo, ill ask for number 2 please...

ola, i'm done with another class report so i gave my self a little leeway and currently i'm reading this book.

" It is a story about the extraordinary love story of clare and henry who met when clare was 6 and henry was 36 and were married when clare was 22 and henry 30. It is impossible but true, henry suffers from a rare condition where his genetic clock periodically resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. In the face of this force they can neither prevent nor control. henry and clare's struggle to lead a normal lives both intensely moving and entirely unforgettable."

it is enchanting too, cant put this down so i got to go. xoxo

a continuation.....(part 2)

11 February 2009

after the muni-muni, the getting-know part and the needed rest for our next destination, we bid goodbye to anawangin. As much as i want to stay, i cant, but i think left my heart there.

group picture before leaving

By 8am, sunday morning. we are off to lighthouse at capones island by boat. It's windy and the ocean is wavy. After a boat ride that seems like forever (30-45mins), we reached the island, yay! the catch is, the boat can't dock to the shore because of the huge rocks, we have no choice but to swim off to the shore which is approximately 30 ft. (not really sure). Anyhow at the sight of the stairs to the lighthouse, suddenly i opt to stay at the boat, it's like I acquired a fear of stairs (if there is any), my legs are painful, on the other hand I dont want to be left alone in the boat, so i change for my swim wear, we all changed in the boat, thanks to the sarong sheng gave me, very useful.

It wasn't easy to reach the shore because of the huge waves and rocks, even in you can swim it wont help, the wave comes every 5 seconds.

The lighthouse is situated on top of the hill. It was abandoned, i dont know how long and i dont know why it has been abandoned, lol, obviously i havent done my research.

this is the spiral stairs to the lighthouse, it was rusty and shaky, i wasn't able to make it to the top, i was overcome by my fear of height.

while waiting for them, i took some pictures, with doors and windows as my subject.

we stayed there for like 30 mins and head back to civilization, we still have a ride to catch back to manila.
thanks to these guys who are on the rescue, its like catch me, im falling, or catch me, i'm clumsy

Indeed, it was quite an adventure, no signal, no internet, painful but fun, meeting new people, learning and discovering something new. I would probably want to experience the same. xoxo.

pain + fun (part 1)

09 February 2009

im on leave today, my legs are still sore, we climbed Mt. Pundaquit (zambales) last weekend. It was a 6 hour journey, up and down. It was my first climb ever and i dont think im gonna do that again! It was so hard, i swear! (lol)

Despite my busy days, i cant afford to miss this trip. I been wanting to go to anawangin the first time i saw a picture of it 2years ago, it's like love at first sight, that's why when C's classmate "J" invited us to go there i said yes right away. Thank Good Lord, I dont have class report scheduled on that day. Nakisama ang panahon talaga.

We left manila at 11:30pm friday night. We reached San Antonio, Zambales at around 3am. 20min tricycle ride to pundaquit. we gathered at the house of our guide for briefings, by 3:30 we are off to Mt. Pundaquit. We were with others hikers, actually there are a lot of hikers group. We were 16 in our team. It was still dark, the way to the foot of the mountain is sandy, you know how hard to walk in the sand, there is also a rocky part. By the time we reached the foot of the mountain im already tired. We took a 5 min rest before starting the "real" journey. With a back pack on my back, a rocky road (at that point i dont want the taste of rocky road) and a little light that came from our flash lights, i wanted to quit, yes, i really wanted to go back, i felt shortness of breath, probably im scared, i was praying silently and asking God for strength, i prayed "Lord sana makabalik pa ko ng buhay". i was silent for a moment thinking how to tell them i wanted to stop right there and go back but there is no turning back we are already miles away from the village, we took another rest, i decided to let the guide carry my back pack, goodness gracious, he said yes. Without the weight on my shoulder going up is much easier, my fear disappeared slowly, my breath goes back to normal and the will of reaching the summit gives me the courage to go on.

The track is tough, indeed, it is dark and grassy as in tall grasses. The only words i know at that moment is "malayo pa ba?" the climb is like eternity, someone screaming "are we there yet?" again and again.

When our guide finally said, "we are almost there" a wide smiles overcome us, finally! It's like seeing a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

By 6am we finally reached the summit, by that time the sun is getting ready to say "hello" world, but the clouds spoil the sun to rise with all its valor.

Wow, wow, the view on top of the mountain is so amazing, i was so proud i finished the journey! Congrats self! The other group of hikers were already on the summit. We took pictures and ate our breakfast.

Thanks J and the group for being so patient with us, assisting us in every step of the way, hahah naks!

I'd like to give tribute to kuya in orange shirt, he is the one carried my backpack, he is also our guide. You made my climb easier.

By 6:30 we are getting ready on our way down. I thought that going down is easier than going up, but i was so wrong, it was harder, you have to fight against gravity, with all my remaining power, i managed to reach the ground safe by 9am with a sore legs and feet.

Friends and I were the last to reach the ground and stunned at the news that J stumbled on the ground, his forehead hit the rock, got a cut about an inch, it was a little bloody, good thing they had a first aid kit and a nurse on the group. The bleeding stopped and J's back still kicking!

At the sight of anawangin with its glory, a peaceful sea, a mountain, pine tress and all, it was worth the 6 hour of torment.

Odd! that was a lot of people's reaction when they saw the place, how come a pine tress managed to grow on sand? Anyhow, that's the wonder of the place. Whatever force brought the pine trees there, I want to thank it, that made the place surreal among other places. The place was so serene.

I was thinking of edward hopping from one pine tree to another, bela on her back.

I had so much fun, it was a new kind of adventure for me. I'm already planning my second visit to anawangin.
