from middle east with love

29 December 2008

This card greeted me when i came home tonight, from Abu Dhabi with love witsandnuts, jo thank you so much not only for this but for the friendship, my kisses and hugs for you. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. I hope we can meet someday, soon.

here's another one from my bff fresh from Alkhobar, a box of chocolates, thanks dear and take care, talk to you later.

I hope you guys are enjoying the rest of the holidays, i'm working on my new year's resolution, im not done yet, are you done with yours?

how is everybody doing?

25 December 2008

I hope you guys had a wonderful and merry Christmas.

We stayed home because relatives and friends came to visit. As much as I want to enjoy the holidays, I can't, i have a lot of school papers to do and it tied me up and believe me i not done yet with my gift list (so pathetic).

Anyways, these gifts made me smile wide, the givers knew exactly what i needed.

hunkies and a bag hanger came from my dear sister, she's been complaining about my bags because they are all over my place and everytime i brought home a new bag, she's like: again?? (eyes rolling). Don't worry sis, i'll fix that tomorrow, you'll see, mwah.

yay, a new addition to my bag collection and my latest favorite, perfect for school, thanks sugar, you really knew what i want:)

this is a personalized magnetic (pin?) also from my officemate, tweety... mwahh

and last but definitely not the least is this bracelet made by my cousin. Thanks ganda.

Okey, the next picture is not Christmas related, while i was looking for my earrings a while a go, i saw this wedding garter instead. This is my friend's garter on her wedding eight months ago, i catched the bouquet and forgot to return this garter, actually i'm not really sure if i need this to return and i'm sure she forgot it too, but i think she need this as a souvenir, im really not sure, anyway i'll ask her.

Enough for this, i really need to drag my self and start the school papers, anyone willing to help me? lol.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday and have a prosperous new year everyone. ciao

re-route

20 December 2008

Okey, changed of plan. I thought i'll be away for a while, our initial plan is to spend holiday in Quezon but due to unavoidable circumstances we will spend it here in Manila.

One thing i hate about this city aside from pollution and traffic is the Christmas rush (meaning: traffic to the nth power), every malls are jam- packed. At 11am this morning parking lot in megamall is already full eh, how much more in the afternoon or evening? We did buy only the basic because my sister and i haven't finalize yet the noche buena menu and most probably we are going back on Monday.

This is the line in taxi area, people are so anxious and tired. The line is long and no available taxi, my sore feet and body wanted to rest ( meaning: ang katawan kung lupa e gusto na mag pahinag for a while) but we waited for ages, (duh)! you know during this time i think of the importance of having your own car but on the contrary you will have trouble on parking space.. lol

Anyway, i wish everyone well. And I suggest if you are going out, do your errands early in the morning even though it's so hard to wake up early because it's too cold.

Be safe. Bye for now. xoxo

rush, rush

19 December 2008

I'm on leave starting today, i just dropped by here in the office for last minute check and i'm off for shopping and other personal errands. It's so funny that i accompanied friends for shopping but i haven't finished my own list, lol.

I'll be away for a while so i'm greeting you in advance. I wanna thank you for the friendship, i'm so grateful and glad that i met people like you. My special thanks to sheng and ramintessah, you guys are nice and sweet and generous and to all of you who have been with me since i started blogging - mommy rachel and ria. Thank you also to odette, jo, princess dyanie, alice, bluerose, jeanny, everyone in my list, my million thanks to you. I'm looking forward to a more meaningful and stronger friendship in 2009.

Thanks to C for this bag organizer, this is exactly what I needed, you are not just a collegue but a friend, thanks a lot girl.

Be merry, Be healthy, Be safe and THINK GREEN everyone.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2009.

holiday mode

18 December 2008

Aloha everyone!

I took a day off yesterday and spent it with my good friend M who came home to celebrate the holiday here in Pinas, we shopped all day (my favorite past-time), chat, in short we paint the town red. It was nice to be reunited with your friends noh?

Malls everywhere was crowded and everyone is in a holiday mode. Last Sunday we watched the "Paskotitap sa Pasig", it was a Christmas Floats organized by the city government of Pasig. Several organizations, schools and industries joined the parade. I had a hard time taking pictures because it was crowded and people blocked my view but i tried and succeeded, i took few decent pictures to share with you:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

thank GOD we're safe

13 December 2008

I'm home and safe but my knees are still shaking. We had a car accident 4 hours ago. We came from school (at UP), my classmate/new found friend offered us (our other friends) a lift, we were turning right slowly somewhere in Quezon city circle, signal light turned on, suddenly a jeep came fast behind us and hit the headlight on the right side. I was sitting in front, good thing i'm wearing a seatbelt (which i usually forget to put on), Thank good LOrd we are all okey, even the jeepney passengers. I don't wanna go into detail, what's important is we are all safe. It was my first that's why i'm abit frightened.

Thanks to MMDA staff, Aline Borbon who helped us and volunteered to drive us home. Mabuhay ka!

Drive safely everyone! Be safe connie.

TGIF , blog love, etc.

12 December 2008

PLDT never failed to infuriate me every morning since i signed up for the DSL for our new office hayy, it's been a month and they haven't installed it yet, I call them everyday to follow and i get the same answer "we already coordinated to the concern group, blah blah", it is so frustrating, that we don't have a choice but to wait for them since they are the only servicing the area, (another hayyy).

Anyway, on a brighter side, we had a year-end party last night here in our crazy little office. Why i love my company, it's because we have a flexi time, no boss to mandate, annoy and act like gwardya sibil through out the day and most of all we can play while we work, work while we play and drink while we work and play, yes, we are allowed to drink (in moderation of course), do what ever we want as long as we deliver a quality project on time.

This is our fridge stuffed with cans of san mig light, a left over from last night.

and, on the other side of my world, i got a package 2 days ago, my first ever package received from a blogger friend sheng . She sent me a green and maroon sarong (in time for the coming summer, lol) , a cute bracelet ( i bet you made it) thanks thanks and a love letter, lol, (it's been a year since someone wrote me a touching letter) i'm so touched. THANK YOU, you're so generous!

I was surprised, I never thought that i can find nice and true friends in the net. I am so grateful. Sa uulitin, sheng, lol.

Love keeps coming in, i got a new bag (a new addition to my bag collection) as an exchanged gift from our class Christmas party last Saturday. I was amazed that she picked my favorite color without mentioning it to her, hmmm looks like mental telepathy really works!

and the package that my brother sent came this week

my pamangkins after unloading the box, the excitement subsided, all looked tried

and oh, i noticed that i only have two posts for this week, one on monday (week starter) and this one as a weekender its because i'm lazy to make kwento, i just blog hopped.

Enjoy the weekend guys, xoxo.

merry monday

08 December 2008

I still have pacquiao fever and i think it will last for a few days pa. Anyhow, it's been 4 months since i started blogging but it feels like 4 years. I am overwhelmed with the comments and awards you guys gave me, you are an angels in disguise.

I started blogging in August and ria was one of my very first blog friends, i admire her courage. She gave me my very first blog award and i got another one, it's my 3rd award from her, thanks ria dear and get well soon.

I'm passing this to all of guys, you deserved it too. I am a grateful heart. Salamat.

brought to you by letter H

05 December 2008

Ria of & that's the way life goes has assigned me the letter H.

here are the rules:

You leave a comment on this post, and I’ll assign you a letter. You write about ten things you love that begin with your assigned letter, and post it at your place. When people comment on your list, you give them a letter, and the chain continues on and on.

this is the best list i can come up with, effort na yan :)

1. Happiness : the word describe it self, need i say more? lol. who doesn't want to be happy?
2. Home: there is no place like home
3. Hug(s) : a warm hug warm people i love made me feel a okey
4. Hot chocolate/hot coffee made my day.
5. Holiday: we all look forward to it specially the long Christmas break, yay!
6. Him: Im referring to GOD above, He gives me natural high.
7. him: my Mr. Big, he makes me happy
8. Hobbies: my escape to boredom
9. humor: laughter is the best medicine
10. Hypoallergenic products: i have a sensitive skin, these products keeps the doctor away.

this is fun, it's like a brain exercise... just 1 tip, if you are having a hard time, google it, lol.

if you want to do it, let me know. Happy weekend guys. :)

award and kilig

04 December 2008

mommy Rachel bestowed me this Great Buddy award, thank you sooo much, you have a big heart indeed. And of course i'm passing this to my other great online buddies, another great mom, sheng, the talented jo of witsandnuts, the book lover alice and back to you of course mommy rach.

**************************

I'm still in Side A mode so forgive me, just can't resist the new apple of my eye, my new crush, it's Lee von Cailao pala not Ned Esguerra hahaha. hayyy kilig :)

in my lenient time

as i was blessed with flexible working hours i did some friends a favor, i did shopping for them! (yay, sarap ng buhay) lol! Who doesn't love shopping anyway?

So sheng, the "think green" shirt will be delivered in your doorstep any moment now, lol.

and Hens, bought the bonnets, so see you later, buddy.

if you want me to do shopping for you, im very much willing, lol. pero it's raining so medyo lazy ako today, pwede bukas na lang? lol

the concert

02 December 2008

Araneta coliseum was jam-packed last night and the concert is a success indeed.

Joey G and Side A once again proved (no doubt) that they are the band for all generation. And geee i have a new crush, Lee Von Cailao their new member and sounds like Joey G (for me). Their final song is of course ang walang kupas na "forevermore". They are the most applauded band last night.

But of course MYMP and Freestyle (Juris and Jinky) did great too. I was just a bit disappointed because i was hoping that Jinky will sing One Hello, pero nde. Freestyle sang most of OPM, their new member Mike Luis won the crowd applause because of his rendition of Give love on Christmas day.

It was a success for the 3 bands for being able to fill Araneta Coliseum as we all know here in the Philippines, artist can be called popular if you are able to fill the Big Dome, Araneta coliseum which the largest indoor facility in Southeast Asia.

of leisure and responsibility

30 November 2008

Yay! tomorrow is holiday and i'm looking forward to it and the back-to-back-to-back concert of Side-A, MYMP and Freestyle, opps i get too excited. I have a bunch of school papers to read and to report and Harry Potter and the Half blood prince in my plate, so this weekend is a mixture of leisure and responsibility, lol.

I was thinking of re-arranging my bedroom today but i need to consult first Lilian Too (for a good feng shui), yes i'm a feng shui believer, but of course i don't base my life in it, i just consult some and so far it worked for me. In general 2008 is a good year for me, almost everything fall into place but for one and that is what im working right now and i have a strong feeling that the Good Lord will grant me that wish soon (sounds optimistic) hah, i'll keep my fingers crossed)

I have found another shirt to add in my comfort shirts collection, i saw this in tiendesitas last thursday and i can;t resist its charm.

We put our Christmas Tree up yesterday but we still need to buy other decors to add on it.

Have you set up your Christmas Tree? Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

10 random facts meme

28 November 2008

I got this from the girl who doesn't eat pickle (but end up with a pickle-eater) caryn of sari-saring kulay.

Here are the rules:

1. Each blogger must post these rules.
2. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.
3. Bloggers that are tagged, need to write ten facts about themselves. You need to choose ten people to tag and list their names.

Here are the 10 funny, embarrassing, weird and unique facts about me:

Una.

Ikatlo - Sobrang hyper ako kapag nakakain ako ng pizza specially kapag double cheese, I can laugh and laugh all day.

Okay, it's your turn, i want to know you more, please..

good morning Juan dela Cruz

this foggy window greeted me this morning, i woke up at 5:30am which is very unusual, normally i wake up at 7:00. The breeze outside is cold which is an indication that Christmas is a few hops away and no one can stop it, that reminds me also to finish my list and mail some greeting cards.

Since i'm one of the lucky people who had a privilege of buying my own time, yes, (i'm so mayabang) my working hours is flexible, it gave me a leeway not rush every morning i wake up, that i don't have to curse the traffic and the drivers who stopped by the gas station to fill their tanks because i don't have to catch a bandy clock or the biometric nor wish the clock to stop till i reach my office, this is one of the things i'm thankful for, God is so Great.

I decided to wash away unwanted calories by means of this treadmill which me and my sister bought a month ago, this is only my 4th time using it, im lazy, i know, that's why when i'm in mood i took advantage of it.
Exercise does really gives us energy and a state of happy mood. Speaking of happy mood, i watched the morning news and i heard a good news not only for me but for all the commuters (what perfect day to begin with!), this is an early Christmas gift for every Juan dela Cruz (Filipinos), the jeepney fare will rollback to P7.50 minimum fare this December, hooray! and not only that, OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) who have been laid-off because of the global financial crisis will have a merry Christmas too because TESDA is doing something to train them, i believed it is a sort of lovelihood projects to start a new life here (made me sing " babalik ka rin", lol), isn't it good news, that we can say life is still beautiful after all?

Happy, merry morning everyone, i'm off to visit you guys. :)

wonder baby dancing like the wonder girls

20 November 2008

this was shared by my friend, the kid is so talented, she's the baby version of one the wonder girls. The Wonder Girls are a popular South Korean girl group. This kid has a big future in dancing, she is graceful and dance like professional, but someone commented this (illatease) : OMG...I dunno if I should be disturbed or awed at the kid's talent. 0_o...... she's cute, but those dance moves doesn't suit her, still a baby!

you be the judge, watch this:

Desiderata

18 November 2008

Last night C and I went to megamall to buy tickets for the "back to back to back" concert of SideA, MYMP and Freestyle on Dec. 1 (yay, holiday). We dropped by at Papemelrotti to look for hopefully christmas gifts, i came across this poem, I know many of you heard or perhaps read this prose poem about attaining happiness many times, but still, is worth to share and i will never get tired of reading this soul enriching and food for thought, Desiderata. It was first copyrighted in 1927 by a poet and lawyer from Indiana, Max Ehrrmann.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

paper and bunches of papers

16 November 2008

Yesterday was our second meeting (my classes) and we are already/slowly drowning in paperwork but the good thing is (at least) they gave the topics in advance, so i can start working on the first research paper. Graduate school is really far different from my undergrad, when i was i college, the teacher dominates the class, in graduate school it's the students dominates the class, the professors are there to guide you. it's more of collaborative learning, sharing experience, exchanging ideas and a mountain of papers to do. The thought of research and term papers made me sick (lol), suddenly i felt stress slowly overcome me and as a result - i turned to my stress reliever, shopping and i hate it.

I need to manage my time for work and school, whew! i never imagine that it would be this tedious.. hmmm, looks like someone is gonna spend Christmas vacation doing paperwork. xoxo.

the best thing in life is free

14 November 2008

It's my day today, why, first i'm wearing my comfort shirt, second i won a free desert!

On our way to the office after attending the mass, C and I dropped by at dessert solutions (it's a dessert store) located at our building lobby here in eastwood, C choose chocolate mousse for P50 and I picked mocha java for P55, the problem is C and I had only P50 each, we asked the sales attendant if she can give it to me for P50 only, at first she told me to buy na lang chocolate mousse, but i'm craving for mocha java so i insist the P5 tawad, she turned to her boss. The boss (wearing his chef uniform) approach us and said yes but told us not to tell anyone, okey surely!

While waiting for the dessert i noticed the "drop your card here" fish bowl and asked the boss how often they do the raffle, he said everyday, I told him i dropped my card the other day, he asked if my name was picked up already, i said no (with matching head motion), the next thing i know, he was fishing on the bowl, did a little mixing on the cards (eyes closed) and viola!! OMG! (exagg:)) he picked my card, i can easily recognize my card among the rest because it's red. i told him that's me, he said really? how will i know if it's you (at that time a don't have any IDs), he asked if i have my cellphone with me, good thing i have and he called my cell, "ring, ring, oh it's really you! yah, That's me!

So i had this mocha java for free! Half of it was shared with my sweet tooth officemate, a.k.a, sugar. Sorry the picture is vague, i used my not so vavavoom cellcam, i always forgot to bring my digicam.

for a change

13 November 2008

i have a new template again, for the nth time, it goes with my moods, as you see, i get bored easily, anyway for a change, i'll be having my BFF as my co-author, he'll write one post per week most probably on his TGIT (thank God it's Thursday), he's working in UAE as a professor, so expect posts about life in middle east. For his personal details i'll let him do the writing, so watch out for him. TC

10 things i want to accomplish in my lifetime

12 November 2008

yah i know i'm dull, this blog is dull and lame for the past weeks. My moods sucks! I'm not in the mood to do anything and im struggling to finish this post (lol), i'll try though.

Okey, i wanted to write this weeks ago pa, so before lazyness strikes again, here it goes:

In no particular order, here are the 10 things i want to accomplish in my lifetime (thanks G-anne for reminding me):

1. This is my ultimate dream, i said this many times, i want to put up a foundation for less fortunate people specially the orphans. Calling all prospective partners out there...

2. To have my Masters of Industrial Relations diploma. I just started last saturday, it's still too far away, so wish me luck.

3. To travel here and abroad.

4. Learn how to sew and put up my own botique, design clothes, bags and shoes.

5. I want to have my own family ( a loving and faithful husband (meron pa ba?) and a (healthy) baby, sana next year na (lol)

6. To stay healthy in all aspect, spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally (it's hard to maintain, it is everyone's battle, right?)

7. To perfectly sing at least one of Maria Carey songs, please don't laugh, i'm a frustrated singer.

8. To be financially stable and this means having a stable and a rewarding job and to learn manage well my finances.

9. I know this is insane but i want to give it a try, to be stress free in this chaotic and crazy world.

10. and the last but definitely not the least, to be able to do something to help save our environment from total destruction.

Amen!

boy: "i know na, you have pimple on your nose, right?"

boy: "ahh i know na talaga(with excitement), so people won't recognize you!"

recap

Let's all welcome 2009 with a wide hopeful smile!

If you can remember I wrote this highlight sometime in September, I added the last 3 months of 2008.

This is a recap of my journey this year with a hope for a much much better 2009.

January
- The Jump Start - Last new year my dad had a heart attack. what a start of the year! I experienced the longest 30mins of my life in the hospital, it's like eternity. Thank Good Lord, he recovered so fast

February
- The Mental relapse - i dont remember anything significant here.

March

from middle east with love

This card greeted me when i came home tonight, from Abu Dhabi with love witsandnuts, jo thank you so much not only for this but for the friendship, my kisses and hugs for you. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. I hope we can meet someday, soon.

here's another one from my bff fresh from Alkhobar, a box of chocolates, thanks dear and take care, talk to you later.

I hope you guys are enjoying the rest of the holidays, i'm working on my new year's resolution, im not done yet, are you done with yours?

25 December 2008

how is everybody doing?

Enough for this, i really need to drag my self and start the school papers, anyone willing to help me? lol.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday and have a prosperous new year everyone. ciao

20 December 2008

re-route

Be safe. Bye for now. xoxo

19 December 2008

rush, rush

18 December 2008

holiday mode

13 December 2008

thank GOD we're safe

12 December 2008

TGIF , blog love, etc.

08 December 2008

merry monday

I still have pacquiao fever and i think it will last for a few days pa. Anyhow, it's been 4 months since i started blogging but it feels like 4 years. I am overwhelmed with the comments and awards you guys gave me, you are an angels in disguise.

I started blogging in August and ria was one of my very first blog friends, i admire her courage. She gave me my very first blog award and i got another one, it's my 3rd award from her, thanks ria dear and get well soon.

I'm passing this to all of guys, you deserved it too. I am a grateful heart. Salamat.

brought to you by letter H

award and kilig

mommy Rachel bestowed me this Great Buddy award, thank you sooo much, you have a big heart indeed.

02 December 2008

the concert

30 November 2008

of leisure and responsibility

Yay! tomorrow is holiday and i'm looking forward to it and the back-to-back-to-back concert of Side-A, MYMP and Freestyle, opps i get too excited.

wonder baby dancing like the wonder girls

this was shared by my friend, the kid is so talented, she's the baby version of one the wonder girls.

Desiderata

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

paper and bunches of papers

I need to manage my time for work and school, whew! i never imagine that it would be this tedious.. hmmm, looks like someone is gonna spend Christmas vacation doing paperwork. xoxo.

14 November 2008

the best thing in life is free

Sorry the picture is vague, i used my not so vavavoom cellcam, i always forgot to bring my digicam.

i have a new template again, for the nth time, it goes with my moods, as you see, i get bored easily, anyway for a change, i'll be having my BFF as my co-author, he'll write one post per week most probably on his TGIT (thank God it's Thursday), he's working in UAE as a professor, so expect posts about life in middle east. For his personal details i'll let him do the writing, so watch out for him. TC

10 things i want to accomplish in my lifetime

yah i know i'm dull, this blog is dull and lame for the past weeks.

Amen!
