charge to experience.

30 August 2008

Whenever bad things happen, when i committed mistakes, I always (and most of us i believed)say "charge to experience" but never heard someone say it whenever good things comes there way, i wonder why?

experience is indeed the best teacher, I owe everything to it and the people who become an accomplice. If one day it will charge me for exceeding my limit plus interest and late charges, i may never be able to pay and will always be in debt.

i opt not to be a repeater..

post from seldom insomiac

last night is one of my sleepless nights, I don't know why. After trying so hard to get my self some sleep, i ended up in my PC instead and write this this thought:

D, my gal pal who has a wonderful marriage couldn't help but wonder,
"why do you have to be with someone if they are not meant to stay? Why do we have to be in a relationship when it is not meant to last?"

I replied, "you wouldn't be with your wonderful husband and beautiful kids if not because of them."
To my Mr. Big,

the pain you caused me turns me into a red berry. Thanks for the lesson. I never been this better :)

Way back few years ago, when I was a confused soul, Andrew Matthews book being happy helped me back to sanity(lol) and this particular phrase I recurrently reciting on my mind during my bewildered days sticks to me until now :
I am healthy, I am good, I am prosperous.

I would like to thank the responsible person who introduced me to the man who moves his readers to find their purpose in life in a simple, uncomplicated manner, {kate, thank you for lending me the book}, and I believed that it’s my turn to repay if not kate, the other confused soul out there.

just want to share this excerpt from follow your heart which im currently reading right now, in a nutshell:
Courage is not the absence of fear - courage is acting in spite of fear. People who do nothing with their lives are just as scared as people who takes major risks. It's just that the first group get scared over tiny things. Why not get scared over something significant?

happiness in a nutshell

have the discipline to do little things you don't like -
and you can spend your life doing the big things
you do like.

No-brainer brain booster

28 August 2008

I’m sure like me, some of you sometimes suffers from mental relapse probably because of the “ritualistic grind” in our daily life especially at work. We become relaxed as we master the routines of our job and we often neglect to exercise our brain, (whew!I’m guilty of that). We are very much aware of how powerful human mind is. It can affect our whole being, so before you become idle just try this no-brainer brain booster i read from cosmopolitan (august 2008 issue):

Take a different route to your office
 Brush your teeth using your left hand (if you are a rightie)
 Switch your watch to the other wrist
 Think about what you want to achieve tomorrow
 Sit up straight. Good posture promotes a better state of mind
 Keep a diary
 And the classic one, look up for a new word in the dictionary everyday

This is so simple, go save your brain.

core shaker

27 August 2008

Does great love really shakes you to your core? Does it really changes you and after that you are never the same? Is great love means loving that person with all your core, without condition, loving without ifs and buts, taking risk without knowing what you gonna get? huh! like a box of chocolate?

I been battling with my self (still) if I had gone through that great love and if it means what I mentioned above, I think I been rubbed by that great love and yes it changes me, I am not the person I used to be and I think I will never be the same again. It keeps on haunting me, it’s not a happy ending for us, sad but true some great love never last but no amount of heartache can weaken my faith to find another great love, another core shaker to make my broken soul whole again and when that time comes I hope it would be my last, my forever.

I can only hope….

Liliw shoescapades

26 August 2008

I gone shoe gaga last Sunday on my 4th visit to liliw (shoe haven) laguna. Every time I go there, it’s always like the first time, my passion for shoe never flicker as I become mature over time (lol) and I felt that its more intense now, perhaps because this past few weeks my life is more stressful and whenever I am stress, I always turn to shopping, it is my stress reliever.

Fyi,(for those who do not know yet)Liliw is like the shoe capital of the south that rivals that of Marikina, (I haven’t been to Marikina yet so I won’t be able make comparisons).

There’s one street there, I don’t know the name but I will call it “Footwear St.” where you can find different shoes/sandals for as low as P200 depending on designs and size and Tsinelas for 3 for P100 (you can still ask for tawad) and it is not too bad considering the workmanship and quality of the products they produce. Aside from being mura, I love liliw because the designs varies from one store to another, every stores has its unique designs that you cant find in others and that I don’t have to worry going out bumping into a girl wearing exactly the same shoes (do you know that feeling? it’s really awkward)

I bought 3 pairs for only P700, actually I want to buy all of it, I hate to go, I wish I leave there so I can have my own shop, design my own shoes (hehehe). Here are the pix:

Bucket List (from ms.firefly)

23 August 2008

The idea is to write a list of 8 things you would like to do or accomplish before you die.

1. be a wife to the man God prepared for me (I hope he is on his way, come and get me) and be a good mother.

2. build a foundation for all the less fortunate not only for my fellow Filipinos but also for those who are in need, I don’t how it will happen, God help me.

3. to have masters degree (coming soon hopefully next sem)

4. travel everywhere with family, visit Europe (abby a friend from Denmark once told me that Europe is a must see before you die). Just seen Singapore last June.

5. to put up my own business probably a boutique, design clothes, bags and shoes

6. help change the world, help stop global warming perhaps, so that the new generation will still have a better place to live and enjoy life, touch people’s lives in my own simple way.

7. i still want to be a social worker

8. enjoy life with my family and friends while we all still can

Oh, i love the movie, bucket list.

crowning glory of good food

I'm loving coffee bean and tea leaf's spicy tuna linguine to bits, their classic ceasar salad and chipotle roast chciken sandwhich(that goes perfectly well with any kind of bread)are goodilicious too specially when seasoned with a hot chit chat with your girlfriends about girly stuff , boys, etc. Surely we'll hang out there often.

My future made of honor

22 August 2008

Last night I have seen Made of Honor with my nano. In the movie the bride’s made of honor is her male best friend (but they end up together, just see the movie, funny and cute) and that made me think when I get married maybe I could have a male made of honor too, its not that I don’t have a girl best friends, please don’t get me wrong I have lots of girlfriends, but the idea of having a male made of honor is worth giving a try, I know that it will cause many eye browses raise but I couldn’t careless, its my wedding anyway, I want to be non- traditional (just a bit). Well, and who could be my male made of honor? I couldn’t think of anyone but Oh boy, Oh boy is my very uber close friend, he knows everything about me, every details of me, he is my partner in crime, my crying shoulder, my shrink and my safety net. He could be the perfect made of honor for me, and oh if I’m going to marry Oh boy’s friend he could be a made of honor and a best man too, how’s that? Quiet a big role boy (multi-tasking, tumbling ever) but I know you can make it. Just be ready, I can feel it, its coming very soon (hahha, kumusta nman yon, exagg). And I know that you’ll be the happiest person (next to me and my groom of course) when my Big Day comes. Oh boy who is always concern about my love life, I terribly miss you, I wish you were here.

i'm in love with you

14 August 2008

Last June, I had a leisure trip to Singapore together with my jet setter friend Danggit and her two officemates. I been waiting for this trip and I’m so excited since it’s my first trip out of the country.

Months June to July is the “Great Singapore Sale” and according to danggit all establishments are giving up to 70% discounts and being a borderline shoppaholic, it heightened my excitement.

I made a promise to my self that I will not spend too much. My budget is tight and I’m saving for our next trip in Bangkok. My plan is only to buy digicam and some pasalubong for my family and friends. On the plane going to Singapore, while Danggit was busy with her laptop, I on the other hand have nothing to do, I can’t sleep either so she lend me her Ipod Classic, I was listening to music and then she asked me if I want to watch a movie, I thought she was referring to her laptop but she means her Ipod pala (hahaha sorry I’m not that techie person). All the while I thought Ipod is only for music (hahaha shame on me). I was able to watch some episodes of sex and the City season one, the Ipod keeps me company through out the trip. Although I planned only to buy digicam, on my mind I entertained the idea of buying an Ipod, but I abruptly wipe the idea away (it hadn’t sink in yet how entertaining Ipod is to me)

On our itinerary, first day is for shopping, our first stop, PC expo at Suntec City for my digicam. I bought a sony digicam for a low price which by the way comes with lots of freebies, it’s really a good buy. On our 3rd day, while I was counting how much did I spend for shopping, Sentosa trip, food and payment for our accommodation, yeepee, I have extra money left which gave back to idea of buying an Ipod nano, danggit and I researched the prices and made some comparisons before I came to a decision of buying it. We rushed back to PC expo to buy my Nano (plus freebies). The blue one looks nicer but since I love green (loving it) which according to feng shui(im a fanatic) is the lucky color for me, I go with the green.

Since then my nano and I were inseparable, it’s my new companion, I love it, and im loving it everyday. Every night is a movie date with my nano (minus the popcorn). Im glad we’ve meet.

By the way it’s our 2nd monthsary.

here are some pix of our Singapore escapades :

today, I really am exhausted. I have a lot of things to say but i can't. It's not that I couldn't describe what i feel, it is because im afraid i might divulge too much of my self and what i really feel inside. I realized that i'm still a private person and still want to keep something for my self, i really am not ready to go very public. There are things that are better left unsaid, feelings that are better left unexpressed. Sometimes it's better to just sigh, sigh says it all no need to say more.

12 August 2008

According to the recent report published in the UK newspaper “The observer”, “Men still prefer to marry women who aren’t too brainy; they cited the finding of the study which stated that intelligent women lessened their chances of finding a partner by 45% whereas brainy men increase their chances of finding mate by 35%”. ( Cosmopolitan July issue)

Wow, what the F?? So now being brainy is a problem or a disadvantage? (I beg to disagree). This is so unfair! Don’t men want smart wives? (wow, im so affected as if im too brainy, lol). Is it because it bolsters their position if their partner is not too challenging? Or is it true that a not very intelligent guy will never want a more intelligent woman for a partner because he will not put up with the subordination that less intelligent women gladly are conditioned into accepting in the reverse picture?

Brainy women who are in a relationship sometimes hide their intellect so their partners wouldn’t feel threatened, but why do you have to fake it and pretend to be less clever or worst, play dumb? Have you ever been in a situation when you want to correct your guy because he mispronounced a word but you don’t know how coz you are afraid you might offend him?

The question is “Do you have to compromise your intelligence just to be in a relationship or to be a potential candidate for Mrs. Housewife?” Why not love us for who we are? Regardless of our mental capacity, we deserved to be loved. Being brainy and single doesn’t make you less of a woman. Going solo means freedom, unrestricted means power. The right man will come in God’s perfect time no ifs, no buts.

So brainy single, fabulous gals, CHEERS!

Survey done by the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health revealed that: “Women who stayed single enjoyed much better mental health than those who had married or suffered from relationship split”.
